Our Tŷ Hafan pebbles are one of the many ways we remember the children who we have had the privilege of knowing and who are sadly no longer a physical presence for their families.
As an act of remembrance we offer bereaved families a pebble carved with their child's name. Families can then choose to take the pebble home or lay it in our beautiful memorial garden, which many bereaved families visit for quiet reflection throughout the year. Our unique Birdsong project, 'These Names will be forever in our Skies', which remembers each of the children in the form of an individualised bird song also plays out in the garden area. More information can be found here.
Families are invited to two annual Remembrance Services at the hospice, one in the summer and a candle service at Christmas time. These services are open to all Tŷ Hafan families regardless of how long they have been bereaved and lots of families return for many years.
Families are welcome to come and spend quiet reflection time in our Sanctuary area within the gardens and are invited to add a personal tribute page to our 'Book of Memories' which is left open for families visiting the Sanctuary.
Our support to families has no time limits and can extend over many years following the death of a child. We recognise that grief is an individual experience and may require different support at different times.
