However, please let us know so we can ensure that this is updated on our systems and we inform the right person.
Of course, we have several different volunteering opportunities from one off events to regular scheduled sessions. When applying to volunteer you will be asked what your availability is like and your preferred hours, which can be changed at any time.

There are times when a volunteer may decide to leave and later wish to return to volunteer and we would support this wherever possible. If you wish to return to us after taking a break then please get in touch with your manager to discuss.

Volunteering is giving your time freely to help and support us, during which you will gain many experiences, including the workplace environment.
Work experience is unpaid and is often arranged for a fixed length of time. It will provide you with a glimpse into the world of work and the opportunity to try something new. This is available in our shops and in our offices.
We have a range of opportunities to suit everyone’s needs and you will not be expected to do any task without training and support.
If you will be regularly volunteering with Tŷ Hafan, we do ask you provide details of two referees. We don't need to obtain references for those volunteering on our event days or corporate volunteers.
Tŷ Hafan is committed to the safeguarding of all employees, workers, volunteers and service users, as well as the Tŷ Hafan brand and other interests of Tŷ Hafan. It's for this reason we do sometimes need to carry out DBS checks. These checks usually only apply to volunteer roles based on the hospice site, but you can check the role description if you're not sure.
Volunteering for Tŷ Hafan will not affect your Job Seekers Allowance as long as you are still actively seeking and are available to work. You should inform your work coach that you're volunteering with us and discuss with them why you're volunteering and what you hope to achieve from it.
Volunteering does not usually affect you receiving Employment and Support Allowance, but you should inform the Department of Work and Pensions.
