Donated Goods – In light of Covid-19.
Due to the current climate we are not accepting any donations at our Head Office in Sully, please read the information below in regards to donating goods:
We aim to take them at all the above shops on a Tuesday and Saturday* between 9.00 and 13.00 and 15.00 and 16.00, however, we have limited space available. We are therefore having to suspend taking them when we are full, so we advise that donors phone before they make the journey with donations please.
*Abergavenny shop will now be accept accepting donations every open day
*Barry Holton Road Shop will now additionally accept donations on Thursday morning's 9am - 1pm
*Cwmbran shop will now take donations on Monday as well as Tuesday and Saturday
*Penarth shop will be trialling a new system for receiving donations. Donations will be accepted on a Tuesday and Saturday by appointment only. Please call 02920 703665 to arrange your donation drop off directly with the shop, thank you.
Please note that we have measures in place to ensure that all donation stations are COVID-secure. And as always, we will only accept clean, bagged & saleable items which is especially important in light of the pandemic.
Please be mindful that it costs Tŷ Hafan to dispose of dirty/broken/poor quality items.
Thank you in advance for your donations of pre-loved items to Tŷ Hafan. We rely heavily on our retail income to fund our provision of care for life-limited children and their families, and your quality donations really do help.
We will keep you updated on our website and on our social media channels with any further changes and if we are able to open any further shops.

We love your unwanted stuff
Last year, the goods Tŷ Hafan supporters donated to our shops raised a valuable amount, which we used to provide vital support to life-limited children, young people and their families.
Help us beat last year’s total by donating quality items that are clean, in good condition.
We really do love most of the things donated to us, but especially:
- Men’s, women’s and children’s clothes
- Accessories such as shoes, belts, bags and jewellery
- Bric a brac – anything from crockery to curios, pictures to plates
- Homeware – anything from pictures to plates
- Furniture – upholstered items need a fire safety label
- Linens including bedding, curtains, tablecloths and rugs
- Baby goods including prams and nursery furniture
- Children’s toys – check they have the CE mark
- Bicycles and fitness equipment
- Electrical items such as TVs, DVD players and radios.
We couldn’t manage without your wonderful donations, but sadly space in our stores is limited. It also costs Tŷ Hafan thousands of pounds every year to dispose of items we can’t sell. Please help us reduce waste by not donating:
Upholstered furniture which does not have a fire safety label attached
Large wall units
Items that are damaged
Items that do not work
Items that we cannot sell for legal, safety or quality reasons
Retail Gift Aid
If you are a UK tax payer, every item you donate could be worth more to us at no extra cost to you. By allowing us to claim Gift Aid on the sales proceeds of your donated items, we can claim an additional 25p for every £1 raised.
