The first Great Days Golf fundraising event for Tŷ Hafan took place on 27th April at the Vale National resort in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Seventy six golfers from 22 teams took part in the contest, which resulted in a whopping £10,000 being raised for Tŷ Hafan.
Hannah Barnard, from Principality Plastics Warehouse, headline sponsor for the event, said: “As a company, Principality Plastics Warehouse are so proud to support Tŷ Hafan each year at our own charity golf day, and when we heard Tŷ Hafan were running their own golf day at The Vale, we raced to offer our support with sponsorship, and were thrilled to do just that.
“The day was a huge hit with our teams, even with their horrendous scores - I’ll be shouted at for saying that!. The smiles on their faces at the end of the round was what makes it for me, knowing they have supported such a worthy charity, and in the process met some wonderful people.
“I was touched at the generosity of people in the day and especially in the auction in the evening. After such an unknown couple of years in the world it really does make you feel humbled by the kindness shown.
“Sorrel and the team at Great Golf Days ran a wonderful day, and we cannot wait to join everyone again next year.”
Sean Holley, Director of Great Day’s Golf, said: “At Great Days Golf we were thrilled and honored to recently host the Tŷ Hafan Charity Golf Day at the Vale Resort.
“It proved to be an amazing day with golfers and supporters of the charity enjoying the superb Vale National course plus insights from former Wales rugby captain Ryan Jones in an entertaining Question and Answer session.
“The auction and raffle items provided by Tŷ Hafan went down a treat and contributed immensely to raising funds on the day.
“It was a proud day for Great Day’s Golf and a special thank you must go to Tŷ Hafan’s Sorrel Mayo for liaising so professionally with our team to help make it such a rewarding day.
“We sincerely hope that we can make this an annual event and grow it to become an integral part of Tŷ Hafan’s fundraising calendar.”
