People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some, it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others, it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge.
Our volunteers are integral to our charity and are supporting in so many different ways. Our volunteers are incredible people and work tirelessly to help enable Tŷ Hafan to continue taking care of Welsh children and their families.
Tŷ Hafan has around 500 volunteers who carry out a huge range of activities, from supporting the hospice’s care services, hospice gardens, volunteering in shops, at events, in our head office, becoming part of the corporate or fundraising teams, or distributing and servicing collection boxes, in our lottery and handcrafted department. Some volunteers just give a few hours of their time on a one off basis, whilst others commit themselves to months and years of support.
With busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering can be enormous. The right match can help you to find friends, connect with the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career.
Why not contact us at volunteering@tyhafan.org to have a chat about the many vacancies that we have, safe in the knowledge that your volunteering contribution however big or small will make a difference to the lives of children and young families with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Every hour of volunteering generates funds towards helping the Tŷ Hafan children and their families.
